If we have identified a stream or wetland on your property as a potential restoration site, then you surely have some important questions. RiverBank understands that most landowners are not familiar with ecosystem restoration or compensatory mitigation, so we take every opportunity to educate landowners; and we’re always available to answer your questions.

Through the restoration process, our goal is to reestablish natural ecological forms and functions to stream and wetland systems. This process can improve conditions for wildlife, help recharge groundwater, contain floodwater in streams and flood plains on your property, and alleviate erosion problems both on-site and downstream.

While there are other ecosystem-based federal and state incentive programs available to the agricultural and ranching communities, allowing RiverBank to restore your stream or wetland can be more rewarding--ecologically and financially.  RiverBank works with the landowner to preserve or replace existing uses of the restoration area; we also provide payment on a per-acre basis which often exceeds the appraised value of the land.  Ultimately, the landowner is compensated for allowing RiverBank to restore, occasionally monitor (for 5-7 years following restoration) and permanently protect the restoration area through a conservation easement or restrictive covenants.
